Tiddly Inks Design Team Call!

I started my card by making my background paper out of watercolor paper, Tim Holtz Distress inks, and a water spritzer.  I dabbed ink from three different ink pads on my waterproof mat, spritzed the ink with water, and laid the paper on the ink, gently moving it around until all of the white was covered, then let dry.  Easy!

Next I stamped my Tiddly Inks image, "Grow A Little Love", www.tiddlyinks.com, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic markers.  

My finished card is 4x5 inches, so I cut my card base 8x5, and folded in half.  I rounded the corners. I trimmed the colored background paper down to 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 inches, rounded the corners, and adhered it to the card base, toward the right side.  Wren is 2 x 3 1/2, and is adhered to a slightly larger piece of card stock, corners rounded. I placed the stamped image on pop dots toward the upper right corner of the colored paper.  Next is a piece of orange with white dots ribbon, tied in a simple bow toward the left side of the card. The accompanying sentiment, "friends are the flowers of life" was stamped onto a piece of colored paper, and adhered on pop dots.  I finished the card with three pink gems to the left of the sentiment. 

I stamped the flowerpot filled with hearts, which is also part of the stamp set, inside the card.

His Birthday!

My sweet husband had a milestone birthday this year, I won't tell which one cause the card does that for me.....but I had to make a card that would do the birthday justice! I found this image from Mo's Digital Pencil, mosdigitalpencil.com.  She has some of the most amazing digital images of people doing all sorts of things!

 
The image was colored with copics, with love.  I had just finished my Copic Intermediate Certification, so I was so excited about how my balloon turned out! Anyway, I thought the image with the sentiment was perfect for his big day.

Hang in There!!

Yes, it's Tiddly Inks again!  Who can't relate to hanging upside down on the playground, or hanging from a branch on your favorite climbing tree??  It takes me back to fun times, and comes with the catchy sentiment,  "Hang in there", www.tiddlyinks.com.  So cute. I stamped the image with Mememto tuxedo black ink and colored with Copics.  The base card was white, but instead of using a background paper, I decided to use 3 different wash tapes to finish the background.  Neat, right?  I ran the take on the diagonal, alternating the patterns and trimming them at the edges of the card.  I also used a piece of each inside the card.  A piece of burlap adds some texture and interest.  I finished the card with a little bit of bling on the upper left of the picture, and the lower right of the card, and a twine bow.  So fun to color and put together.  I hope you enjoyed it.

I fell in LOVE with the digital image from Tiddly Inks titled "Love Fully", featuring Emma and Jake, www.tiddlyinks.com.  So sweet!  All of the images were colored with Copics.  I embossed an Elizabeth Crafts Design shimmer sheet, www.elizabethcraftdesigns.com with a hearts embossing folder for each card.  The shimmer sheets come in so many beautiful colors!  My deckle scissors and some ink, made quick work of the edges on the background paper to give the cards an antiqued look.  Each card is finished with a sweet bow.

 I made the first one in purple for Valentine's Day for my Mom because she loves purple.

 The pink one I made for a friend. She and and her boyfriend gave it to his Mother for Valentines.

I attended my first CKC Scrapbooking convention last weekend in Houston with a dear friend.  It was overwhelming, but loads of fun!  We shopped, took some classes, shopped, took another class, shopped.....shopped some more.......you get the picture, right?  I saw this stamp/die set and had to have them because they reminded me of the water tower by my Dads house back home.  The tower was a lovely shade of sky blue for many years, and then "they" painted it to look like a hot air balloon.  Did my Dad like the new "balloon"?  Hmmm.....  The day that I found this stamp set also happened to be his birthday, and if he were still with us, he would have been 83.  (Love you Dad!)  

The stamp and die sets are from My Favorite Things www.mftstamps.com.  I LOVE this set!  There are two different ballooons, puffy clouds, and eleven different phrases.  The die set has two dies, one for each balloon. A Darice embossing bolder gave me the perfect background for my hot air balloon, and I added some Pearl Acrylic Paint to the clouds .  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black,  die cut it with the matching Die-namics die, and colored it with Copics.  I added a small bow to the balloon, and the sentiment "Up, Up, and Away,", which is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and die cut with a Sizzix, www.sizzix.com , cloud die.  Perfect!  The Inside is stamped with clouds, a sweet sentiment, and the other balloon.     This card was so much fun to make and perfect for the retiree that received it.  :-)
